Below is a log from this morning. Shows musashi clearly abusing a bug with regard to room spells to engage in PvP. Note that the PvP happens even in a room with no mobs. Please ban this douchebag.
I mostly lost around 40 plat and a balanced knife which isn't the worst thing.

Agreed, we have listened to him, and put up with his 3rd grade intellect for too long.  It's one thing to be a complete tool in the forums, but when you abuse a bug like to this to initiate PVP in a non-PVP realm, I second the vote to have him removed!

EDIT:  Musashi is another of Therg's characters, by the way. And this bug is a result of my not coding a Shadow-Walker spell correctly with the "EvilinCombat" tag, so he's able to cast it on players.  This has been fixed in the editor, but hasn't made it into the game yet.  Of course, if we get rid of this bad seed, everyone else in the realm seems to play nice together, so we won't have to put a priority on fixing this.

Also Pent, I don't have sys powers in the realm, so I'll ask Vitoc to give you enough platinum to recover your losses.

Musashi and Therg are two different people.

It might be wise to think about these things before casting accusations and condemning people simply because you don't like what they have to say about your realm or the way they may have said it.

Jumpin' Jack Flash posted this 25 February 2016

If Musashi and Therg are two different people, then it seems strange that Therg would be telepathing me in a conversation, and Musashi would join in without having seen the conversation.  If indeed they are two different people, then I apologize to Therg, but let Therg stand up for himself, he doesn't need your assistance.

You could have just stopped with the first sentence here, instead of adding yet another negative comment about me.  I do this for the enjoyment I get out of creating content, and watching others play. I'm sorry that my having a realm has caused you so much grief and lost sleep, and forced you to abandon your content due to fear of competition. My apologies that things have not worked out for you here, but it's not my fault, and I don't care to hear from you any longer.  Please keep your comments concerning me, and my content to yourself as I will no longer be making any future changes based on your recommendation.

It's very easy to reject constructive criticism about something you've put a lot of time and effort into. I'm sorry you feel the way you do, and that your perception is warped by your defensiveness.

You may note, however, that I didn't criticize you or your realm. I simply noted that you seemed very eager to ban Therg without a shred of real evidence; almost as if you were just waiting for a reason to ban him because you were angry about the things he had to say about your realm.

You should also note that any input I've given you was given privately. I did this because I'm not out to embarass you or to attack your content, but to point out some obvious discrepancies in things like monster difficulty vs the reward they give you.

I'm a bit taken aback by the comments you made here:

I'm sorry that my having a realm has caused you so much grief and lost sleep, and forced you to abandon your content due to fear of competition.

If this was the case, would I really have wasted so much time explaining to you how things worked in the editor when you started? Would I really waste my time showing you how certain abilities work? Would I really give you constructive criticism privately so as not to embarass you? I'm just going to chalk this up to you being defensive, because I'm just plain sorry for you if you really believe this.

Jumpin' Jack Flash posted this 25 February 2016

I've been a proponent to not banning anyone from WebMud, and have said as much to Vitoc and Mamabear. I do not wish to see anyone banned from playing here except under extreme circumstances, which criticizing me or my content do not fit into. I can take criticism and have asked them not to ban based on that. However, engaging in PVP in a known non-pvp realm is, in my opinion, banned for life! There will always be those who's only goal in life is to destroy it for others.  We don't need those kinds here.

My comments above stand, and I'm done with this conversation. Vitoc and Mamabear will decide how to proceed with Musashi when they get the chance, Pentagruel will be compensated for lost money and items, and I will continue to develop and provide awesome content to the masses.

Just gotta get your digs in where you can, don't you?

I don't know what happened between you and Vitoc, and I really don't want to know. Whatever it was, it obviously didn't work out, and that's unfortunate, but that's where we are. Taking digs at your replacement any chance you get is just sad, and makes it hard to not take sides against you.

So, if I was you, I'd knock it off. You're not making any new friends by doing that (except Therg maybe), and you're getting yourself shut off from having input on this new content in even an advisory role.

Just wanted to add another view from someone who was attacked by him. The guy is a toxic player for sure, but perma ban is harsh as a first punishment. Might I suggest maybe a temp ban or deleting the offending character? Maybe he'll come around and join in the fun.

As a side note: Penta if those guys don't reimburse you, I'm happy to give you 40 plat, just hit up Anu tonight.

He was asked to not engage in PVP due to a glitch in the Shadow-walker spells, after he attacked you, and he continued to attack others afterward.  You had it correct when you said he's a toxic player, and people like that just don't get it, and they never will.  I think it's best to just send him packing to another realm somewhere, push our problem children off to others, and tell him he's welcome to return when a pvp realm is opened here.

I woulder if Musashi has a forum account considering how much of a pain it was to sign up.

The Therg / Msuashi duping debate has gone for many years. We are friends in real life we skype a lot and have played majormud for over 22 years together, he went to my school and was best friends with my brother and now is one of my closest friends. We work well as a team together, and he keeps me more open minded and calms my rage. Just as I push us to take more risks for rewards.

We were going to group here but it turns out backstab is really powerful, and I couldtn be bothered using chupons script and making another character to chain backstab for exp. Plus I wanted to test the solo capabilities of a lot of the classes to compare.

I currently have a

Barbarian- Thergarinan

Warlock - Therglingsareop

Missionary - Thergmission

It is funny as going around killing pvp in a nonpvp realm is a little harsh but I never saw a rule or a sign to say it is nonpvp, and I admit a little out of character for Musashi but I guess, we look at from the point of just testing, and he is testing for sure.

Are you saying you dont want to know about these bugs earlier rather then later?

So everyone knows I was the first victom to die, and that the shadowspell continues over after you die in the temple you can still take left over damage from the DOT.

Therg

PS oh that balanced knife!!!!!!! dont steal my silvers from the ground that I cant carry

VitocsBetterHalf posted this 26 February 2016

There's a big difference between reporting bugs and exploiting them, let alone exploiting them to the point you are killing other characters and making it an unpleasant gameplay experience.

Jumpin' Jack Flash posted this 26 February 2016

That, and the realm selection screen clearly says No-PVP

Musashi posted this 26 February 2016

I'll just post a few quick responses to this here. I'll make a separate post stating why and what I actually did in just a moment.

a) I'm not Therg. People always love to assume that I am Therg's dupe as it makes them feel morally superior.

b) That slab of text you posted Pent is anything but clear. If anyone besides experienced mudders was able to sort out what was going on from it I would be surprised.

c) I took no items from you. I purposefully took no items from anyone that died as a result of my actions. I didn't think I had taken cash from the death piles either, but I suspect my AI might have thwarted me there. I do remember with your characters that the cash was being picked up by the other characters in your party.

d) I didn't abuse room spell abilities in order to attack you. The spells allowed it straight out of the gate, and the room spells actually cannot hit you. That was something I actually was testing. No, I didn't have to test it on you. I did it anyway.

Lastly, I was being a d**k. I'll honestly admit to that. Sometimes life gives you things you don't actually want to make lemonade out of.
